Universal Studios Japan
Universal's theme park in Osaka, which celebrates twenty-five years in 2026. It is divided into ten areas: Super Nintendo World (Mario's kingdom and Donkey Kong Country), The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Minion Park, Universal Wonderland for small children, Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Jurassic Park, Jaws' Amity Village, and WaterWorld.
Super Nintendo World has three rides: Mario Kart, Yoshi's Adventure and Donkey Kong's mine cart. The area is celebrating five years until 11 January 2027, with decorations, meet-and-greets with Yoshi and special food for the event.
The program changes by season, and the anime events change every year. From 11 September to 8 November 2026 Halloween Horror Nights runs: zombies in the streets from 18:00, and Chainsaw Man and Resident Evil attractions. The One Piece show runs until 19 November, with a separate ticket from ¥3,000. From 25 November the winter light shows begin.
Good to know
- On most days you need an area entry ticket for Super Nintendo World. Since 5 January 2026 the free entry tickets, by queue or by lottery, are issued only in the official app, on the day of your visit. If you want guaranteed entry, buy an Express Pass in advance that includes it.
- From 13 November to 30 December 2026 one child aged 4-11 gets in free with every adult, on the 'Holiday Kids Free' ticket.
- At Jaws a 'Red Alert' version runs until 31 January 2027, from sunset. The tour inside Hogwarts Castle is open until 17 January 2027.
- Universal Cool Japan 2027, and the park notes that dates may still change: Sailor Moon from 2 December 2026 to 5 April 2027; Detective Conan and The Apothecary Diaries from 10 February to 30 June 2027; Fullmetal Alchemist in spring 2027.
