Mimizuku no Yu, Hakuba Happo Onsen
A public bath within walking distance of Hakuba Station, with an outdoor pool that looks out on the Happo ridge and the three peaks of Hakuba. ¥800 for an adult, open every day 10:00 to 21:00, with last admission at 20:30. The water here is pH 11, among the most alkaline in Japan, and that is what gives the slippery feel on the skin.
