A modern ryokan with infinity baths above the Sokokura valley. From ¥35,000 per person including two meals. Every room has a private bath, so you can bathe without using a public bath at all. 15 minutes by bus from Hakone-Yumoto.

Not a ryokan but a day-use bathhouse, and that is exactly the reason to know it. Private baths to rent by the hour, from ¥4,000 per couple, with no need to stay overnight. Gora · Museum
Sculptures by Henry Moore, Miro and Rodin on lawns facing the mountains, a stained-glass tower that you climb, and a Picasso museum. ¥1,800 online in advance, ¥2,000 at the ticket office. At the end of the route there is a free foot onsen.

Lake Ashi · Free
A shrine in a forest of ancient cedars, and a red torii gate that stands in Lake Ashi. Free. For a photo at the gate there is an orderly line of 20 to 40 minutes. The path along the lake, with its Edo-period cedars, leads to Hakone-machi.

Lake Ashi · Cruise
A decorated pirate ship that crosses Lake Ashi in 30 minutes from Togendai to Moto-Hakone. ¥1,700 one way and ¥3,000 round trip since October 2025, and it is included in the Hakone Pass. Fuji is visible behind on clear days, and in the morning more than in the afternoon.
