Komehyo Shinjuku
KOMEHYO is a second-hand department store chain. In Shinjuku there are several nearby branches around Shinjuku 3, not one. The branch called KOMEHYO SHINJUKU is in the MLJ Building, floors 1 to 4, at Shinjuku 3-19-4. According to the official site floor 1 is jewelry (including 4°C and Agete), floor 2 diamond and gemstone jewelry, floor 3 watches (including Rolex, Omega, Cartier and Seiko) and stationery, and floor 4 is buying from customers of jewelry, watches, bags and clothing, not a sales floor.
Bags and luxury fashion are in the neighboring branch, KOMEHYO SHINJUKU WOMEN, in the Inoyama Daini Building (Shinjuku 3-19-2), basement to floor 4. The official site lists brands there such as Cartier, Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada. When the complex opened in 2020 it was described as three adjacent buildings: a watch and jewelry store, a men's clothing store (KOMEHYO SHINJUKU MEN) and the women's store.
It is a place for someone looking for a second-hand branded watch or jewelry piece, or a designer bag, who wants to see several shops on the same street. Stock changes between branches and between days.
Good to know
- Sales at the MLJ branch are on floors 1 to 3. Floor 4 buys items from customers, so do not look for products there.
- The shop displays the Japan Tax-free Shop mark, so you can ask for tax-free. The rules depend on the date of purchase, so ask at the register before you pay.
- The chain has several shops in the same area, a minute or two apart on foot. If you are after bags, start with the women's branch, and if you are after a watch, with the MLJ branch.
