Pokémon Café
Pokémon Café Tokyo sits on floor 5 of the East Building of Takashimaya Nihonbashi, and reopened on 17 June 2026 after the first full renovation since it opened in 2018. The entrance is designed like a luxury restaurant with portraits of Pikachu, the tables are divided into Fire, Grass, Water and Electric zones, and there is a stage in the middle of the hall. The renovation was only in Tokyo. The Osaka branch, on floor 9 of Daimaru Shinsaibashi, has separate hours and a separate booking site.
The new show is called Let's Make a Pika Pika Parfait, lasts about 10 minutes, and runs once per seating. Chef Pikachu, a waitress or a pastry chef comes up, and you cannot know in advance which one. You can dance from your seat, take photos and film, and at the end there is photo time.
A main dish costs ¥2,530: a curry shaped like Pikachu and Pichu, a Snorlax teriyaki burger or a Mimikyu omelet. A kids' dish, up to age 12, costs ¥1,540, and a parfait or pancake ¥2,090. With each drink you get a random sticker, while stocks last. The cafe is not kosher, and the site does not mark any dish as vegetarian. Even a curry with a tofu patty is not presented as vegetarian.
Good to know
- The stay is 90 minutes from the reservation time, and last order is 30 minutes before the end. Being late does not extend the time, and 10 minutes late without notice cancels the reservation.
- Arrive 15 minutes before your time, or 10 minutes before for the 10:40 seating. You cannot choose a table.
- Cancel until 22:00 the day before, through the link in the email, and on the day itself by phone. You cannot change the number of people after booking, and a baby counts too. A group of 7 or more splits into several bookings, each from a different email.
- The place does not change dishes or remove ingredients because of an allergy. The site has a PDF with the list of allergens.
- The cafe's souvenir shop is open without a reservation too, up to 3 units of each product, and a Chef Pikachu plush costs ¥2,640.
- The photo on this page was taken at the Osaka branch. We did not find a free photo of the Tokyo branch.
