Shibuya Sky: the open rooftop for sunset

Shibuya Sky is the observation deck at the top of the Shibuya Scramble Square tower, which connects directly to Shibuya Station. The ticket counters and entrance gate are on floor 14, and from there you go up to floors 45 and 46 and to the open rooftop, 229 meters above the ground.

Floor 46 has a covered observation corridor, a souvenir shop, the cafe and bar Paradise Lounge, restrooms and lockers. Food and drink are allowed only in the cafe and the bar. In some seasons a bar called THE ROOF SHIBUYA SKY also operates on the rooftop, and its opening periods are posted on the website.

The open rooftop closes without advance notice in strong wind, rain, snow, when lightning approaches, in smog or in extreme heat. Even then the covered corridor on floor 46 stays open.

Good to know

  • From 19 November 2026 anyone living outside Japan buys on a separate site for overseas residents, and they and anyone buying on Klook, Trip.com or KKday get in only with the original passport of every visitor, checked against the details registered at purchase. A QR code alone does not get you in.
  • You can go up to the rooftop only with a phone, and with a pocket-size camera or small binoculars or one with a neck strap. Bags, tripods, selfie sticks, headphones, hats and food stay in the lockers on floor 46. If you have no pockets, you can borrow a small bag at the information desk.
  • You cannot enter with a suitcase. Leave it in the station lockers or at the shibuya-san tourist information center on floor 1 of Shibuya Fukuras.
  • There is no time limit once you are in, but if you leave you cannot come back. The live status of the rooftop is posted on the website and on the official X account.
  • A holder of a disability certificate buys a regular ticket on the official website or from Klook, KKday or Trip.com, and at the counter on floor 14 gets half the price back, before entering.
