HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel

The red wheel has sat on the roof of the HEP FIVE fashion mall, above the Umeda stations, since 1998. Its diameter is 75 meters, and at its highest point it is 106 meters above the street. It has 52 four-person gondolas, with air conditioning and heating.

One rotation takes about 15 minutes. On a clear day you can see as far as the Akashi Strait, and at night the wheel itself is lit with changing lights.

Good to know

  • You board the wheel from floor 7 of HEP FIVE.
  • Show the 'Hankyu Hanshin Odekake Card' travel ticket and you get ¥200 off.
  • On 15 October 2026 all of HEP FIVE is closed, and so is the wheel.
