KINJI Harajuku

KINJI is a chain of secondhand clothing stores with most of its branches in Osaka, and it also has branches in Tokyo, Kanagawa and Kyoto. The main Harajuku branch is on the basement floor of the YM Square Harajuku building on Meiji-dori, Jingumae 4-31-10, across from Laforet.

This is a large store built for digging, and the clothes are arranged by type and style. According to the chain, it carries secondhand clothing collected in Japan and abroad, vintage pieces and reworked clothing (remake), for women and men, plus hats, accessories and goods. The price range includes both cheap items and brand-name pieces.

The chain has a second, smaller branch in Harajuku, on floor 2 of CUTE CUBE on Takeshita Street (Jingumae 1-7-1). That is a different branch, so do not mix up the two listings on the map.

Good to know

  • The store is on the basement floor, not at street level, so it is easy to miss. Look for the YM Square building across from Laforet.
  • Most items are one of a kind. If you find something, do not leave it for a second round.
  • We did not find an official source that says whether there is tax-free here. Ask at the register before you pay, and note that from 1 November 2026 Japan moves to a refund system.
