Slat Koenji
Slat (old spelling SLUT) is the flagship of a small vintage group that, according to the sources, runs seven shops, most of them in Koenji. It mainly sells Americana bought abroad, from cheap everyday used clothing to rare vintage pieces, for men, women and a little for children. Its strengths are American military clothing, such as cargo pants and khaki green jackets, and jeans: worn Levi's 501s and matching jackets. The aisles are wide and the shop is bright.
The shop opened in 2016 inside the Pal shopping arcade, moved to Etoile Street, and came back to a larger space at the end of the Pal shopping arcade, under a red sign and a large American flag. Albatross 2nd operates on the second floor of the same building. The address: Koenji Minami 4-6-1, about five minutes' walk from the South Exit.
Good to know
- Look for the red sign and the American flag at the end of the Pal shopping arcade.
- Go up to the second floor: that is Albatross 2nd, a shop of the same group with items that stand out in color and print.
- The shop has an online store that also ships abroad, according to Time Out. Useful if you saw something and your size was not there.
