DiverCity Tokyo Plaza

DiverCity Tokyo Plaza is a mall in Odaiba that opened in 2012, with fashion stores, a large food court on floor 2 and two official Gundam shops: The Gundam Base Tokyo on floor 7, and the smaller 'Annex' shop on floor 2.

From September 2017 a 19.7-meter statue of the Unicorn Gundam stood in the plaza in front of the mall, changing form several times a day with light and sound. The display ended on 31 August 2026, after almost nine years, and so far nothing has been announced to replace it. The Annex shop on floor 2 shows panels and a diorama about the statue's history.

It is also Odaiba's answer to rain: everything is under one roof, and you can have lunch, shop and continue to the Gundam Base without going outside.

Good to know

  • Anyone coming just for the Unicorn statue will find an empty plaza: the display ended on 31 August 2026.
  • At the end of September 2026 several places that appear in old guides closed in the mall, among them the ABAL VR center and the Crayon Shin-chan cinema, and the Doraemon store is closed for renovation until early December.
  • The food court on floor 2 stays open an hour longer than the shops, until 21:00 on weekdays and until 22:00 on weekends.
