teamLab Planets TOKYO
teamLab Planets is a museum of the art collective teamLab where you walk barefoot: a hall where the water comes up to the knee, a room of digital flowers that float around you, and large-scale works of light and mirrors. It opened on 7 July 2018, and is planned to run until the end of 2027.
On 22 January 2025 a wing opened that made the space about 1.5 times larger and added more than 20 works, among them the 'Athletics Forest', where you climb and jump among the works.
The ticket is for a fixed time slot, and is sold only online. The adult price starts at ¥3,600 and rises by date. Near the entrance there are lockers for shoes and bags, and shorts are lent for free.
Good to know
- The water comes up to the knee, and some of the floors are mirrors. So trousers are better than a skirt.
- The city bus from Tokyo Station and from Ginza is very crowded according to the site itself. The Yurikamome train to Shin-Toyosu is more convenient.
- Anyone who arrives late on the same day still gets in, but gets no extra time.
